It’s a tough call, but at least this gives people 3 extra months to plan and get ready.

Still in France, the article makes is sound like it will be the normal event, just 3 months later.

Not the best news, but better than no LeMans.

This is the real Le Mans, in France. The iRacing Le Mans is still happening in June, the weekend before the real race was supposed to happen as it has for the last several years.

Really doubt Memorial Day weekend will happen, maybe around July 4th?

I’m intrigued to see how this is going to play out given the LMH cars are supposed to make their debut at Silverstone on the 5th of September. Are they going to run the LMH for Silverstone and then switch back to the LMP1 for Le Mans? Delay the LMH launch until after Le Mans? Run Le Mans with the LMH?

Possibly. There is also a gap in mid June.
If the Olympics get cancelled, there's a huge gap in the schedule, but I imagine if they're cancelled, then the 500 will be a no-go as well.

Those are great questions, will Toyota run the hybrid hyper car for a race and switch back to the prototype? Will the change over be pushed off another year?

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they push LMH out a year. Most manufacturers are looking at LMDh which isn’t hitting the track until Daytona 2022. I think this is the perfect opportunity to say LMH and LMDh are both eligible starting at Silverstone 2021 and have a bigger grid to start the new era off. Right now it looks like Toyota is going to be the only ones to have an LMH ready for this year. Push to 2021 and you get Toyota in LMH plus all the IMSA manufacturers close enough to ready with their cars that it wouldn’t be impos sible for them to pull their schedules forward to be on track for Silverstone.
I really hope they don’t decide to run this year’s Le Mans with the hypercars because I really want to see Rebellion get a shot at a win.

If they allow anything to happen at all for the rest of the year, that is. I wouldn’t be making any nonrefundable summer or fall plans right now.

there is that
wait and see what the powers decide
(hell...wait and see what the economy/my job does by then too.. might have bigger issues than what races to watch by then if this drags on too long)
